Way home now after our company’s one and a half-day kick-off meeting in a retreat house in Tagaytay City.  I was in a car with Joel, Mark, Faith, and Michael. Among the five of us, Michael was the lucky employee who won an award in our annual awarding ceremony highlighted the other night. Since it has a cash prize, we sweetly coerced him for a treat in Mushroomburger Restaurant which was located in Barangay Kaybagal a few distances away from where we’ve been.

I’ve heard Mushroom Burger Restaurant in Tagaytay City way back my college days. But since I’m not fond of eating mushrooms and not that health-conscious yet, I did not crave their burger.

The parking lot was full when we got in. So thankful that there was an available slot in front of the resto or else we will proceed to Starbucks and skip the opportunity to eat a mushroom burger.

I was expecting Mushroomburger to resemble Tagaytay’s famous restos like Leslie’s and Josephine with elegant interior design and a chic chandelier. It’s not. It was a simple restaurant painted with bright orange and yellow, with big flying fishes on the wall, posters with big mushroom burgers, and tables covered with Formica.

What caught my attention most was the display of fresh oyster mushrooms near the counter.  This is where I saw how big it grows.

Since our tummies were still heavy due to the fully loaded breakfast, Michael ordered snack delight only. What we got: 5 Mushroomburger Regular with french fries and soft drinks (Mountain Dew and Coke) for P131 each. I thought their patties contain pure mushroom but no. It has a combination of meat like beef and pork.

Verdict:  It tastes like a regular fast-food burger, only that this is more juicer.  Their mushroom fries were so crunchy and so yummy.  I bought pasalubong for my family for I’m so sure, they will love these burgers.
