After our shopping of affordable buys at Bugis Street, Bogs and Allan (my hubby’s former office mates, now based in Singapore) treated us a hefty lunch at Food Republic (our version of Food Court) at level 4 of Wisma Atria shopping mall in Orchard Road.
They wanted us to taste Singapore’s popular foods. They ordered Hokkien mee prawn noodles, steam pork, chicken and beef, hot plate braised meat, tom yum fish, and of course rice.
Mine was Hokkien mee. It consists of egg noodles, prawns, squid, sliced pork, and garnished with vegetables. It was so tasteful but so big that I was satiated fast. The tom yum fish was spicy (I really don’t like spicy food) but I want to taste every food served on the table. Hot plate braised beef was also tasteful, but I couldn’t afford to eat rice anymore. And the last one that I tasted was the steamed pork, chicken, and beef.
Well, all of these were so tasteful. Pao couldn’t eat two cups of rice because of the big serving of Hokkien mee.
After the main dish, we craved dessert so we went down to Starbucks Coffee at level 3. Unfortunately, it was jam-packed. Bogs told us there’s another Starbucks Coffee along Orchard Road.
But before we set off, the two boys will tour us to popular shopping malls along Orchard Road to see the wide array of international brands and world-class dining options.
