Our tummies were filled to its brim as Bogs and Allan (my hubby’s former office mates now based in Singapore) treated us to a hefty lunch in the Food Republic in Wisma Atria. They could not get enough of their “keeping in touch” conversation so they decided to settle for a coffee break at Starbucks Coffee along Orchard Road. Then they toured us around to see how fabulous getting into Asia’s famous shopping street.
Shop attack or just a window shop?
Wisma Atria is a shopping haven for fashionistas. Seeing how expensive everything here, we only let our eyes feasted on bags and other items at Singapore flagship stores of Tag Hauer, Coach, and Tory Bury. Window shopping was enough as we gazed at branded products of other lifestyle stores like Lacoste, Nine West, and many more.
Aside from luxury fashion, they also have cafes, restaurants, beauty products, hair and beauty services, jewelry, and timepieces.
ION Place. The architecture and design behind its futuristic frontage were so fabulous. When you get inside, you will see another world’s top luxury brands. Visitors were escorted one by one inside Louis Vuitton. Pampered much? Yes! Since we will not shop, we did not get inside. Other fashion and lifestyle stores were Long Champ, Prada, Dior, DKNY, Valentino, and many more… woooh!!!
There are bars, restaurants, cafes, beauty and wellness, jewelry, and watches at ION Place.
Wheelock Place is another exciting shopping mall to stroll around. Its conical facade is sure to capture everyone’s attention. If I’m not mistaken, Marks and Spencer dominated a bigger part in Wheelock Place. Aside from lifestyle and specialty stores, there are cafes, restaurants, dental and aesthetic services, jewelry stores, and beauty products.
Lucky Plaza is on the other side of Orchard Road. This is jam-packed with people and mostly, Filipinos. We did not buy anymore because we already had our fill.
Ngee Ann City is another shopping mall with an Oriental facade and distinctive architectural design standing prominently along the Orchard Road shopping belt. Nge Ann is home to over 130 specialty stores with international brands like Cartier (located in front of the mall), Hugo Boss, Armani Exchange, and a lot more. There are also restaurants offering cuisines from Thai, Cantonese, and Western.
It was a child delight looking at the fountain and the building with polished granite and marble. Indeed, Singapore offers the best shopping experience in the world. Though we have nothing in our hands (because everything was so expensive), I was so delighted to set foot at the fabulous Orchard Road Shopping Belt.
Our next destination – A Leisure Walk at Orchard Road and a Night Life at Clarke Quay
