Bearing its name as “City of Smiles,” Bacolod City, the capital of Negros Occidental is one of the nicest places to visit in the province of Negros. The notable Masskara Festival which is held during the third week of October draws an influx of tourists to witness its colorful and lively festival. But aside from that, the city is also known for its original “chicken inasal” and the sweet delicacy piaya.

Coming from a wonderful visit to Bais City and the Manjuyod White Sandbar, we now set off to Sipalay City, “the Jewel of the Sugar Island”. Home to numerous dive sites, pristine beaches, shipwrecks, and islets that resembled the Hundred Islands of Pangasinan, Sipalay City is definitely an emerging tourist destination and is another priceless gem in the province.
“I stood agape with wonder as I watched the fragmenting sandbar. I just couldn’t contain my fascination with the entire view. I thought I was only dreaming.”
I’ve read about Manjuyod White Sandbar in 2011 and was captivated by seeing its picture-perfect view of the glistening crystal clear waters, the sandbar, and the huts on stilts. From that moment I was itching to go there so I considered it saving in my bucket list.

It was Friday and payday, so I left the office early for a mall stroll. My hubby was still busy with his work in his office so I went ahead and toured around at Landmark, Glorietta, and finally at the kitchen wares of SM Makati. I was so tired and hungry when my hubby fetched me. Spaghetti and ice tea are not enough to sustain the grumbling sound in my tummy. And since he was hungry too, he told me to spend our Friday night dinner at Blue Bay Walk in Pasay City.

I was bewitched when I first saw the picture-perfect of Bulog Dos Island in Coron, Palawan as shared by a fellow blogger. Immersing in its crystal-clear water in solitude would definitely mean, “A taste of paradise” for me. Island hopping to Bulog Dos, Banana Island, and Malcapuya Island is part of our much-awaited exhilarating Coron adventure. All are part of the Calamian Islands or the Calamianes.

Banana Island also known as Dicalabuan Island is part of the Calamian Islands or the Calamianes in Coron. This is our second destination for our island hopping today coming from the pristine and amazing Bulog Dos Island.
Another stunning island to explore
Coron is the largest town on Busuanga Island in the province of Palawan. Its dive sites, stunning white-sand beaches, towering limestone cliffs, well-preserved shipwrecks, and clean lakes are just some of its attractions that had been raving about by thrill-seeker adventurers. And what is so surprising, the indigenous tribe “Tagbanuas” is still on hand in managing and protecting the island.

We were rejuvenated after an hour of rest from roaming around and buying souvenirs and food in Coron town. The sea view from the window of Birang Guest House to where we will stay for four days was so delightfully refreshing. By 4:00 pm, we were fetched by our tricycle service referred by Ate Viring, the owner of the guest house. This is our first day in our dream destination and our initial activities are: to climb the iconic Mt. Tapyas and to swim in Maquinit Hot Spring.

We had a comfortable sleep at HSL Beach Resort the other night. Thanks to the manager, Ate Marie for her gracious accommodation. The next morning, we walked along the shoreline to enjoy the cool breeze and the calm sea view. The weather was good. My hubby and I are so excited for our island hopping today!
At Kabayan Beach
I was mesmerized by the unique beauty of Puerto Galera when the Accounting Team spent a two-day beach escapade on this island. When I told my hubby about our worthy experience he told me that he wanted to go there too. He promised our kids that if he will enjoy our two-day couple getaway, we will go back with the whole family.
